Teen Star Justin Bieber Confirms He Has Crush on Pussycat Dolls Singer

February 4th, 2010

Everyone knows what 15-year-old boys are like, obsessing over virtually anything in a skirt,, so we will barely blame Justin Bieber for letting those beautiful eyes of his ramble when he met Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger. The 2 met when recording We Are The World - the charity single to generate funds for Haiti after the horrible tremor. The star of the One Less Lonely Girl music video is certain to become an even bigger household name this year.

Justin admitted that meeting the crooner, who at 31 is more than twice his age, was a massive highlight. He claimed : “It was difficult to take my eyes off her as she’s so gorgeous.” Justin Bieber, with plenty of other celebs, recorded a remake of We Are the World on Monday to help raise cash for Haiti. When he walked into the room, Bieber knew it was a big score because mythical musicians as well as current pop megastars encircled him. That was superb.

‘We Are the World’ was incredible. I got to work with Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie and all of the greats, Bieber told MTV Stories . Bieber declared that the quantity of folk who showed up to show their support was incredible. Kanye was there, Lil Wayne. Everyone . Barbra Streisand. It was absolutely incredible and I had a great time. It was insane. Barbra Streisand was on this side of me, and Celine Dion was on this side of me, and I felt like, ‘This is so big,’ he announced.

Mates Condoms Are a Brand Known to Keep People Safe

December 18th, 2009

Like most of you already know, and have probably seen for yourselves, a condom is a device designed to be used during sexual intercourse. Condoms are usually made of latex, although polyurethane has been used a lot lately. It is the purpose of condoms to prevent sexually transmitted infections, such as HIV, syphilis or gonorrhea, but also to prevent pregnancy by blocking the ejaculated semen. Mates condoms are a brand known to keep people safe.

Condoms can usually be purchased in foil wrappers, and will be applied on the man’s erect penis, by rolling them over. They are available in many materials, of which the most common is latex. Condoms are most appreciated for their easiness of use, inexpensiveness, and the very few side effects that come with using them. But above all, the main advantage that comes with using a condom during sexual intercourse is that it protects you against sexually transmitted diseases and prevents pregnancy. The safety percentage of using condoms is as high as 98 % in pregnancy prevention, provided you se one each time you have sex and are aware of the proper application technique. If one hundred percent safe is what you are looking for, then you can combine condoms with other forms of contraception. One of these possible forms is spermicide. If you happen to regard the condom as an unpleasant way of interrupting sex, you should try to use it as part of your foreplay, especially when you don’t know your partner very well, or you wish to prevent pregnancy.

People see condoms differently. Some people think that a condom represents a physical barrier that dulls sensations. Others prefer to see the advantages that come with this dulled sensation, namely the prolonged erection, and therefore the delayed ejaculation. It’s up to you to choose what the condom means to you, but remember that above all, condoms represent protection against pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. It’s true that there are other forms of protection available, but the side effects and safety they come with will definitely make you consider condoms before anything else.

Michael Jackson Track Will Not Be a Chart Hit

October 16th, 2009

A “new” Michael Jackson track unveiled this week will not be a chart hit because it will not be available to download as an individual track. While Michael Jackson music videos are still very popular at the moment because of the star’s death.

This Is It was written in 1983 by Jackson and Paul Anka and features Jackson’s brothers on backing vocals.

It had been described as “a single” in publicity material but fans will not be able to buy it on its own.

Instead, it will only be available if bought as part of a full album or a six-track EP from 26 October.

A statement from Apple’s iTunes said: “We look forward to offering the new Michael Jackson album, as well as a digital-only EP with six previously unreleased tracks, providing fans a great way to get all of the new songs.

The stars who have carried on singing from beyond the grave

“The iTunes Store will offer the album-only single This Is It on both the album and EP.”

The song had been tipped to be the first new Michael Jackson song to be a hit since One More Chance in 2003.

But record label Sony hopes its strategy will encourage more fans to buy the full album or EP.

The double album will feature 14 greatest hits, two versions of the new song, three previously unreleased demos of classic tracks and a spoken word poem called Planet Earth.

The EP will just include the two versions of This Is It, the demos and the poem.

The British Invasion and the Invention of the Pop Charts

September 25th, 2009

The British Invasion occurred in the mid-’60s, when a wave of English rock & roll bands crossed over into the American market after the breakthrough success of the Beatles. Though not all of the bands sounded similar — they ranged from the hard rock of the Rolling Stones and the Kinks to the sweet pop of Gerry & the Pacemakers and Herman’s Hermits — each group was heavily influenced by American rock & roll, blues, and R&B. British Invasion bands were either blues-based rockers or pop/rockers with ringing guitars and catchy hooks & melodies. Between 1964 and 1966, the British bands dominated the American charts, as well as the charts in the U.K. In that time, there was a second wave of British Invasion bands — such as the Who and the Zombies — which was indebted to both American rock and British Invasion pop. By the late ’60s, many of the bands had become rock icons but a greater number didn’t survive the transition into the post-Sgt. Pepper era.

By 1962, encouraged by the anyone-can-play populism of skiffle and self-schooled in the music of Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly, James Brown, and Muddy Waters, some British teens developed a real feel for the rock-and-roll and American blues idioms. Blending that with such local traditions as music hall, pop, and Celtic folk, they formulated original music they could claim, play, and sing with conviction. Young groups with electric guitars began performing and writing up-tempo melodic pop, fiery rock and roll, and Chicago-style electric blues. The rebellious tone and image of American rock and roll and blues musicians also deeply resonated with British youth in the late 1950s, influencing all the British Invasion artists.

From 1964 to 1966 the United Kingdom sent a stream of hits across the Atlantic. Behind the conquering Beatles, Peter and Gordon (”A World Without Love”), the Animals (”House of the Rising Sun”), Manfred Mann (”Do Wah Diddy Diddy”), Petula Clark (”Downtown”), Freddie and the Dreamers (”I’m Telling You Now”), Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders (”Game of Love”), Herman’s Hermits (”Mrs. Brown You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter”), the Rolling Stones (”I Can’t Get No Satisfaction” and others), the Troggs (”Wild Thing”), and Donovan’s (”Sunshine Superman”) all topped Billboard’s singles chart.

What To Do Immediately After Getting Radio Airplay

May 27th, 2008

So, let’s say that you have successfully managed to get a few
radio stations playing your music. What’s your next step?

Are you simply waiting on the charts to come in each week in
order to learn if your single is moving up (or down)?

If you would like to get a bit more yardage out of your
airplay, here are two ways to, not only capitalize on your
current airplay, but to also (possibly) move up radio charts
even faster.

1. Station IDs

I venture to say that most musicians who are promoting
themselves probably never consider asking the stations that are
playing their music in regular rotation for an opportunity to do
a station ID.

Now, if you are unfamiliar with what station IDs are, a station
ID sounds something like…

“Hi, I’m Kenny Love, and you’re listening to WBLS 107.5.”

OR…

“Hi, this is Kenny Love, from the band “Burned Out Baby.”
Whenever I’m in Houston, I tune my dial to KBXX 97.9 FM.”

Now, chances are listeners have already heard your music, since
you are in rotation, and the station ID will serve to make you a
bit more familiar to them while the station also benefits from
having a familiar artist’s voice identify it.

And, you get the obvious benefit of, potentially, enjoying more
station music requests, which translates into more spins and
airplay, increased sales, more performances, etc.

And, most stations are glad to coordinate station IDs with
artists whose music they are playing. And, if you become really
popular with their listeners, stations may even bring you to
town on a bill.

2. On-Air Interviews

Here is, yet, another area where most independent artists don’t
spend enough time pursuing. Yet, on-air interviews can also
dramatically increase your exposure, notoriety and sales.

On-air interviews broadcast on stations that are already
playing your music allow your listeners to become even more
enamored with you and embrace your music while they learn a bit
more info such as:

* The background story as it relates to your music overall

* Your personal background

* Your professional background

* The meaning behind certain songs

* Where you are performing

* More, more, more…

And, one of your primary goals during on-air interviews should
be to turn the average listener who merely likes your song into
a lifelong dedicated buyer of your music who, not only picks up
this particular release, but who also eagerly awaits your next
release.

To me, the best interviews are the ones that are live and have
call-in listeners.

The great thing about on-air radio interviews (whether live or
taped) is that, in most cases, you are not required to travel to
stations in order to do them, regardless of where stations are
located. You can simply do them from the comfort of your home or
office.

I have, personally, been interviewed on over one hundred
occasions by television, radio and print media, and most of them
have been wonderful experiences.

So, by all means, don’t allow this opportunity to increase
exposure, sales and income exponentially, to slip through the
proverbial cracks.
