Giving Fresh Starts in Trying times

July 31st, 2009

The difficult current economic landscape has hit Dallas TX just as it has other parts of the United States, leaving some residents in difficult financial situations they may not know how to resolve. For many, the answer to their problems is filing for bankruptcy. Dallas bankruptcy law allows citizens in dire financial situations to get a sort of fresh start by liquidating assets or negotiating down debts.

There are two main types of bankruptcy filings a Dallas resident or local business may enter - Chapter 7 and Chapter 11. Under a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing, the debtor turns over non-exempt property to a third party, who in turn uses an auction or similar process to liquidate the assets. In exchange for surrendering non-exempt assets, the debtor is excused from some portion of their debt. Not all debts are covered under this plan, however. Student loans, some tax-related debt, and child support are still the responsibility of the debtor, even after the liquidation of his or her assets. Chapter 7 is the most popular type of filing for individuals. You may only file for Chapter 7 once in an eight year span.

Under the second popular type of bankruptcy filing, Chapter 11, an individual, or often a business, will have their debts reorganized so that their assets may still be retained while the terms of the debts themselves are negotiated and re-structured. This could mean changes in payment term or amounts, or some other change to the overall structure by which the debt is paid back. So a small business, for instance, would be able to retain capital equipment it owes money on, so that it may continue conducting business thereby bettering its chances of one day being able to pay down its debts to all its creditors.

Bankruptcy is clearly not a pleasant ordeal to endure, however it does provide options for some debtors who want to make an effort to make amends with their creditors. There are a number of expert Dallas bankruptcy attorneys practicing in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area - refer to the web or local phone directories to find one nearest you.

Beginner’s Bowling Guide: Stop Using the Used Bowling Equipment

July 30th, 2009

Maybe you are an occasional bowler ready to treat this intricate sport more seriously. Should that be the case, you’ve stumbled upon a crucial beginning in growing as a dedicated bowling competitor. Our “Next Steps” handbook to “Bowling Like a Pro” can help get you there. An expert from a local bowling pro shop are there to assist you tap bowling skills. A wise bowling wizard once said: aim the balls at the pins and let them roll. That’s a joke. Fine, if only it were that simple. It’s all good, we’ll make sure you’re bowling the bowling ball like it was meant to be bowled.

Most importantly, get a knowledgeable friend to help you purchase tailored bowling balls and shoes required to bowl competiviely. You’ll notice a difference with your own stuff. It’s no joke, have your favorite ball fitted, and you can make more of your practice time. A carefully weighted bowling ball can make a substantial improvement in your game. Of course another critical matter is wearing actual bowling shoes which smell fresh, look good and help your foot work.

Since you went ahead and found the right bowling equipment, here’s the number two bowling tip: aim how the pros aim. If you stand, don’t necessarily roll the ball at the actual pins. Line up using the arrows like a sight on a firearm. Why, you ask? You’ll find it more effective to roll through a target which sits closer. For it to work right, make sure you aim from the exact spot on the wood with every roll. Roll from the same place, in the same way and you can adjust your marksmanship.

Do you ever wonder how pros roll with spin, to achieve specific action on the pins? Indeed, this is our bowling tip #3. They get traction with the their expensive reactive resin balls. Actually, professional bowlers regularly roll at least two bowling balls to pull off ridiculous pin action, depending on where they are. But greenhorns should work with just one, and avoid a ball that is too heavy for you. Some pro bowlers invest heavily in bowling balls made for special resin materials. Avoid the temptation, because these pro bowling balls can make even moderately good pros appear foolish. And that does it for our first three bowling tips. A pro from our bowling shop will return next month.

Casio Wristwatches

July 29th, 2009

In April 1946 Casio was founded by Tadao Kashio, an expert and technologist in working on technology parts, in Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan. At the beginning the concern was named Kashio Seisakujo. Not until 1957 the company has been renamed Casio Computer Co.,Ltd. He was convinced that people’s lives could be improved by society modern goods. Now it is a multinational company with 13.000 members of staff developing electronic apparatuses with its HQ in Tokyo, Japan. It is not only known for its large sized and long-lasting wrist watches but also for digital cameras (EXILIM), laptops, instruments, calculating machines, audio equipment, electronic dictionaries, printers, and cell phones.

A really lucrative idea

His earliest key product was the famous “yubiwa pipe” permitting the smoker to smoke the cigarette to its knob. The pipe consisted of a finger ring and the wearer had the possibility to smoke while he had his hands free. After the Second World War Japan was ruined and cigarettes were high-priced. So Kashio’s invention became successful. In 1957 Casio made the world’s leadoff compacted calculator (all electric) with relay technology public. In the 1980s the firm achieved great popularity with its home keyboards and low-priced electronic musical instruments. It also became well-known for advanced and various watches. Moreover Casio wrist watches could tell the time in several zones, show altitude, atmospheric pressure, temperature and – in addition to that – GPS positions. The concern was also among the first manufacturers of analog and digital quartz crystal wrist watches.

A extended variety of models

The primary G-Shock watch, the best-known “DW-5000C”, was published in 1983. Twelve years later the “DW-5600E” – a G-Shock watch including a modern EL LCD panel – was released. In 2007 the world’s slimmest chronograph powered by solar was published. The “OCW-S1000J” named the “Oceanus Manta” is only approximately 8.9 mm in size. Specially popular are Casio’s special dual function wristwatches called Wave Ceptors (analog and LCD). To keep correct time they constantly receive signals from an atomic clock.

Casio’s corporate philosophy

Casio’s firm credos are inventiveness and contribution. It shows the company’s assurance and effort to show the kind of different and successful products that simply Casio can. Goods including a lot of useful functions help people in their usual habits and make sure that society is moving onward. Furthermore, the products should bring joy to them and create a different culture. Whenever a new creation is broadly adopted, new market areas occur, and this on the other hand develops expansion in related sectors of industries. Casio watches

Fathers Day Tribute - Scarred for Life by a Remarkable Dad

July 29th, 2009

There is a story we all loved to listen to as kids, and that was the one about how my gallant Dad got his face covered with scars. I will narrate to you the story at the finish of this tribute, a tribute to the greatest dad a little girl could ever have. His death at the early age of fifty four came in as a shock specially when his designation for the infirmary was to have a plaster cast removed only to have him dropped dead in the waiting room.

Although our parting came suddenly, the warmest of memories still held a solid presence in my head for 26 years. If I could work back time, I would apologise for the times I took him for granted. Unfortunately, it’s too late and I would have to take this burden throughout my lifetime. But knowing the man he was, I’m sure he will forgive me.

The idea that soothed me and helped still the resentment I felt was the one that goes “the good die young”.People view the word “special” in a lot of ways. So what do I see in my father that makes him more special than the others?

Dad and his Fathers Day Gifts served thirty-four years in the army but trouble was brewing up on communist day in Hong Kong where dad was posted. It was the sound of alarm bells that triggered the evacuation into motion for the folks living outside the barracks to come back to the camp immediately.

8 of us were jammed in the back of an army wagon with only pillows used for protection. We readily obeyed the order to keep our heads down - the Chinese mob come out from the entrenches that lined the route, equipped with all kinds of arms - 21 stones got in the wagon as we maneuvered toward the camp.

The convoy of trucks that followed behind and stopped - now became burning wrecks. You can only picture what the truck and the driver looked like when a bombardment of boulders were thrusted into the front portion of the wagon. There were no medals of braveness awarded to the driver when recognition was presented by the army superiors for his act of gallantry. The reason was due to a technicality that he wasn’t suppose to drive that day so the acknowledgment was given to the incorrect man who was sitting up in front.

Until now, I still wonder if we could have lasted that day were it not for the drivers who disobeyed the rules in order to save us.

The result of that fearful day was a truck with no windshield a driver with no face and eight living bodies that lived to recite the tale - so now you have the ending to my story why those millions of dents and scars, scarred us for life with remarkable memories of dear old dad.

Corporate Identity - A Rough Guide

July 28th, 2009

A rough guide to corporate identity

The tabloids report the millions spent by large corporate companies on their logos as a scandal… Those small swathes of colour adorning British Airways’ tail fin, ICI’s letterhead or Sainsbury’s checkout seem to come at a huge price.

So do these companies have too much money and not enough common sense? Are they victims of designer indulgence, or are they getting a good deal?

This isn’t rocket science, but it is often misunderstood, as the tabloids flagrantly show. Let’s start at the beginning. Every company has a corporate image. Every company from Joe’s One-Man Taxi Co. to IBM. It may be good, it might be bad. Put simply, corporate identity is the way in which an organisation is perceived.

Corporate identity describes the individual characteristics by which a company is recognised. It is the organisation’s sense of ’self’ - the corporate individuality or personality. Visual identity (that’s the logo) is a pretty big part of it.

So how deep into corporate identity do you want to go? Let’s really confuse matters.

The public, customers, employees, the city, all have a vastly different image of the same company. The image is an accumulation of a company’s past and present identity. Each and every encounter we have with it (by phone, in person or through the media) alters our impression. First impressions (what psychologists call the “primacy effect”) are vital to how we see the company in the future, and extremely difficult to change. Future encounters with the company and its products will only add to the mosaic already constructed in our mind (the “recency effect”), rather than replace it.

But the multi-nationals have bought far more than just a logo. They buy a carefully designed face - corporate plastic surgery, an appearance, an identity. And they’ve paid for a lorry-load of thinking behind it. They have funds and enough at stake to really do the job properly. The logo isn’t plucked from the sky, but selected with precision from thousands of others which were cast aside during its design.

A research team identifies the company’s needs (they are all so very different). A corporate ID programme uses the results and a design team is briefed. Ideas lead to solutions, and stage by stage presentation to the client for discussion and refinement.

Once completed, the ID is usually ‘rolled out’ gradually, strictly enforced by lengthy guidelines covering all possible applications. The advent of desktop publishing has both helped and hindered in-house bastardisation of corporate identity. Without consistency, the identity is ineffective, probably damaging.

There are companies in the UK still unconcerned by their image. Some feel the company is not developed enough to begin work on its image; others perceive astronomical costs, or just don’t care that their corporate communications look like the office dog ate them. And some just slap a logo on everything in sight.

You don’t have to spend millions on corporate Identity

Many household names would not exist without painstakingly designed and instigated schemes that we as customers seldom even consciously consider.
So what of those companies who don’t have millions to outlay on corporate identity programmes? Fortunately, the corporate identity for a smaller company tends to be far simpler.

Your corporate identity programme can be conducted in-house, just as the research and much of the development. Always keep it very simple, and brief an appropriate designer not a print company. Make sure you get on with them, and see some of their past work. Get a rough quote before you start. Cut down any wrong trees they are likely to bark up. Inspire them. Be direct. Be patient. Be decisive. Give them ‘creative freedom’. Ensure they get to know and understand your business. Try to see your company from the point of view of your target market.

Keep the number of presentations they make to you to a minimum. This adds importance to those meetings. Don’t compromise, but do stay open-minded. It doesn’t have to be expensive, and an investment in a well thought-out corporate identity for your business will reap its cost many times over, not to mention giving you a massive advantage over your badly-dressed competitors.

Next time you walk down the street, look out for Sainsbury’s which is certainly tasting better at last. It took their designers nearly three years to lose the ‘J’ and find a replacement for that ghastly orangey-beige. Check out Barclays’ gorgeous new global eagle. And while you’re there, you might remember that Tesco not so many years ago looked a little bit like Kwik Save does today. Next time you decide to skimp on the presentation of your company, think how much you spent on your best suit. Don’t turn up to the ball in your jeans!

Applying Algebra in Everyday Life

July 27th, 2009

After an exhaustive research over the rationale behind the maximum school dropouts, a consistency was found in the answers of the majority of the individuals pointing towards Algebra. It is well said, that just the knowledge of the teacher is not alone sufficient to grow interest in the discipline for the students. It’s the method; the subject matter is delivered to its students which gives a lot for developing interest in the contents.

What is it?

A shortened introduction of Algebra would be a branch of mathematics which substitutes letters for numbers; algebraic equation is a scale. The standard theories of algebra includes real numbers, complex numbers, matrices and vectors.

The Different Domains

Algebra in general covers a lot of areas. Some that are worth mentioning are Multiplying exponents, dividing exponents, Solving linear equations , Finding Greatest common factor or GCM, Multiplying, Adding, Subtracting fractions and many more.

If the above mentioned domains are already putting butterflies in your stomach, I hope that the definitions to follow will relieve your anxiety and give real perception in to the content.

Exponents is a notion that shows multiplication of identical factors. Fractions on the other hand are used for showing numbers that are parts of a whole. Similarly there are other areas too in algebra which are scary by name but equally interesting by their definition and purpose. To put down a few more items - Mixed numbers, Quadratic formula, Graphing linear inequalities, solving compound in equalities , Factoring binomials, and Factoring polynomials; are all algebraic expressions.

I am sure it will be perplexing to comprehend mixed numbers, you may be astonished to find out that they are a type of fractions. Similarly, graphing linear equalities may be self explanatory and there are many other similar algebraic expressions that may sound complicated but are extremely interesting to work with.

Finding a Tutor

If you are interested in understanding the world of algebraic expressions but do not have a private teacher to aid you in the process, do not worry since online lessons will come for your rescue. These tutorials stress the practicalities rather than the technicalities, presenting time-tested techniques. The algebra solver software packages can guide you stepwise in solving your mathematics problems and it can also provide explanations of all steps.

Hunting for the Perfect Interest Only Mortgage?

July 25th, 2009

At the moment many homebuyers are thinking about an UK Interest Only Mortgage especially for the unfortunate few who have been made redundant. Having your biggest outgoing bill trimmed drastically might make repayments more managable. In the property boom years you may have borrowed a huge sum to get the home you really desired meaning you are left with little choice at the present moment and require to go down the only paying the interest path to to affordthe repayments. Thinking long-term though you do need to think about how you will pay back the real mortgage, a separate repayment scheme should be in place to pay back your mortgage. There are many varying alternatives including relying on inheritance funds to pay back the mortgage, selling the house at a later date or a more practical answer is having an investment plan. You could work out the funds required at the end of the term necessary to pay off the mortgage and then keep the proper sum in an ISA (individual savings accounts) or you could invest the money necessary in a pension. You do have the choice of changing your mortgage type in the future to a mortgage maybe when you have paid a bit off the mortgage or you get promoted or your dependants have left home. Certainly at the moment with the base rate at only half a percent many are choosing for a repayment mortgage that you can overpay. You could make the repayment amount the difference that you are now saving in repayments from when interest rates were at 5% so your aren’t paying back more than you are used to, shaving potentially years off your mortgage term. Interest only mortgages very popular among first time buyers who can battle with the mortgage repayments initially but once they are in profiting from raising pay packets and a smaller mortgage can then think about moving to a repayment mortgage. Do think to look at the different costs that many mortgagebrokers charge for moving lenders.

Kevin Thomas enjoys working for top mortgages and has explored the subject thoroughly. They are passionate about other themes including debt. Other mortgages of interest might be a 95 mortgage

Councils Are Not Prepared for Short Breaks Fund

July 23rd, 2009

Eighteen local authorities in England did not meet the criteria for funding to improve their short breaks services for disabled children. Many careers like to take short breaks in England to relax for a couple of weeks, but councils are not prepared to increase funding

Early last year, the Department for Children, Schools and Families asked local authorities to prepare to reform their short break service before new funding was distributed this year.

Among the 18 authorities that did not meet all nine criteria by April, the City of London, Oldham and Sheffield all met less than six of the standards.

But Johnson added: “As of the end of June 2009, 122 of the 129 non-pathfinder areas had met all nine criteria, a further six had met eight criteria, while one authority had yet to meet four criteria.”

All authorities have now received their allocation of money for the year.

But concerns have been raised that for the next round of funding, in 2010/11, local authorities will not have to prove their readiness.

Lesley Campbell, national children’s officer at Mencap, said: “It is encouraging to see that by the end of June almost all authorities met the readiness criteria.

“But Mencap finds it extremely worrying that local authorities will not have to meet any criteria to receive next year’s money.

“It is a major amount of public funding and we would like to see assurances from the DCSF as to how the money is going to be spent on improving short break services for those children most in need.”

Online Insurance Leadgen Guide for Insurance Brokers

July 22nd, 2009

Prior to the internet, a strong portion of an insurance underwriter’s day was spent on the telephone, trying to reach potential customers. These days, lead generation sites can efficiently offer high quality, qualified insurance sales leads that are currently looking for a new insurance policy. These internet sites offer an quick and simple way of developing new customers.

Insurance sales lead companies provide a cost effective solution for insurance agents looking for more sales. First, they collect data from prospects interested in an insurance policy through their own sites. Then, they use the data submitted to match each user with local insurance underwriters.

With an abundant amount of lead generation companies all providing slightly distinct insurance leads, insurance brokers don’t always know which company is best for them. You should look for a company that can consistently provide prospects with prices that can create a high return on invested capital, a clear billing system and return policy, a way to filter your sales leads and that the insurance leads are delivered in real time.

Knowing what to expect in an insurance lead company can help you choose the best one. The specific cost of the sales lead is significant, but more important is the return you end up with from the leads. Filtering your sales leads so that they are prequalified is a very important factor. The following thing to examine at is cost. A $13 lead that gets a policy is worth more than a $3 lead that doesn’t buy from you. Eventually you will be sold a sales lead you can’t contact. If the insurance lead company doesn’t permit you to return this type of bad lead, then you should think about selecting another lead company. Some insurance sales lead sites also try to make you shell out $500 or $1000 when signing up. Be skeptical of this. Most insurance lead sites only need a minimal up front deposit to start receiving leads while a couple will just charge you at the end of the month.

When purchasing leads, you shouldn’t only select one company. You should test various insurance sales lead companies. A couple will be better for car insurance sales leads while others may send better home insurance sales leads. If you buy leads from several lead companies, it will give you an edge against other insurance agents and will keep the quality of your sales leads in check.
