Are you Moving etc…?

November 30th, 2008

With Christmas fast approaching, it’s not only the shops and retail outfits that are getting ready for the sudden onslaught of customers.

As well as Estate and Lettings Agents, Removal and Shipping companies are getting ready for Christmas as well. After the Summer and Easter holidays, this is one of the busiest times of the year for moving home.

Anyone that was unlucky enough not to complete their house sale in the summer months is now desperately trying to make sure that they move this side of Christmas, so that all the loose ends are tied up before the New Year. Also Christmas and the New Year see the end of many tenancy agreements, so therefore the renting market becomes saturated with vacant properties to let.

Being a tenant at this time of year is great, due to the extensive range of properties that are available. And if you’re lucky, you may even get a discount on the monthly rent or deposit due to the fact that the landlord is having trouble letting it out.

However, if you’re a landlord at this time of year, you will have to make sure that the property you are letting is picture perfect so that you get the right kind of tenant and the right price for your property. With so many people taking advantage of the Buy to Let market, you cannot afford for your property to be on the bottom rung of the ladder right now.

Although, the actual moving day may not be top priority for many people relocating, it should not be forgotten and left till the end.

You see, many people think that booking a removal company is like booking a taxi - Quick and easy.

What many people don’t realise is that removal companies can be fully booked for days and weeks in advance. So if you don’t want to be left with the really expensive companies or on the other hand, the cowboy firms, contact your movers well in advance.

Don’t get me wrong, it is not always that everyone leaves it late to book, but sometimes the exchange on their property does not go through until a few days before completion. And if you’re renting, you can find a property and be accepted within just a few days if your credit check goes through straight away.

One major piece of advice that I give to all my clients is to make sure that you get quotes from Removal or Shipping companies as early as possible. If you contact them at least 6-8 weeks in advance of your proposed move date then you are more likely to be prepared for short notice completions. Also, the removal companies will be more patient and understanding of your situation if things do get delayed.

This is also a good idea so that you know exactly how much your removal is going to cost you well in advance. Moving with a professional company may be less hassle, but it can also be expensive. So Be Prepared!

And don’t think that just because you are moving yourself, you have it easier either. Moving at any time of year is hard work, let alone in the cold and wet winter months, so make sure you have prepared yourself for the worse.

Christmas with John Lewis

November 28th, 2008

Christmas is a special time and everyone wants it to be as nice as we can possibly make it - an important part of the X-mas tradition is having a well embellished residence to observe the X-mas season. Too often dwellings have trashy trinkets and tinsel wrapped around a shoddy Christmas tree. Why don’t you have a gander at the John Lewis web-site and put the magic back into Christmas.

At Christmas time the most eye-catching of nearly all living-rooms is the X-mas tree - carefully decorated with lights, trinkets and sweets, looming above the brightly coloured presents underneath; it’s the primary thing nearly all people notice when they walk-in-to a residence and for that reason you will almost certainly want it to turn out to be absolutely perfect. Browsing the fantastic selection currently on display on the John Lewis web-site couldn’t conceivably be more straightforward - elementary navigation on the left hand side and at the top of each and every web page makes the job of getting to the specific thing you desire painless.

Patently, when you have selected your perfect X-mas tree - in addition to the decorations to compliment it - you will defiantly want to choose a cluster of Xmas ornaments for the rest of the home. These Christmas decorations could well come in the form of Xmas lights, hanging ornaments or tinsel to name but a few. Battling through the seasonal shoppers to pick these decorations out can be an unwanted chore and the extra expense of delivering the goods added on by some other websites could well alter that terrific price you perceive to a deal more similar what you could see on the high street. The John Lewis site is a great resource for Christmas tree lights and is certainly worth a visit.

Don’t concern yourself - at John Lewis you will not only be able to avoid the unnecessary hustle and bustle of the Xmas season crowds by browsing from the relative privacy of your own flat, but you will also receive free normal delivery for all items ordered - with next-day delivery available if you are in a big hurry. Not only that but free returns are also available to you, so you can really shop in confidence. Therefore, why not let John Lewis help make this X-mas a really special one.

November 27th, 2008

The cell phone device market is getting more and more difficult to comprehend everyday. Brand new mobile providers, tremendous mobile device special promotions, phone models and call plans have turned mobile phone research into an incredibly hard to understand and time draining activity. During such a scenario, getting an improved superb cell phone device either requires loads of knowledge about different cellular phone promotions and sets, or absolute ignorance.

A partially knowledgeable cell phone customer in the mobile UK market is as rare as a dodo. If you plan to purchase a cell phone device based on a spur of the moment decision, then we can only wish you all the best. In spite of this, if you are planning to undertake all types of mobile research activity before you shell out the pound, then the tremendous advice given below might well help you in selecting the best cell phone deal based on your needs.

Most individuals compare cellular phone offers based on a unilateral perspective. As a result, those folk who pay attention to mobile phone sets and features such as a camera generally end up getting plans that are unusually costly whilst those who compare mobile device plans diligently oftentimes end up with the wrong mobile. Find Sony Ericsson offers online and compare with other models online.

Thus, it is essential that you carry out mobile phone comparisons at both the plan and the mobile model level. The 1st thing you need to do is decide upon all the awesome functions and features such as a camera that you would enjoy in your cell phone. Based on this inventory of terrific features such as an internet browser that you want, you could 1st select a good cell phone device that has everything that you need and falls within your budget. In fact, trimming down to 2 or three terrific phone models might help you get a better calling plan. Hence, it is fundamental that you carry out mobile phone research activity on both the call allowance plan and the handset model level. The very 1st thing you need to do is decide upon all the tremendous handset functions and feautures such as mp3 players that you would appreciate in your mobile. Based on this list of excellent features such as a camcorder that you want, you may select a good mobile telephone that has everything that you need and falls within your budgetary restraints.

What’s Causing My Lower Back Pain And How Can I Get Rid Of I

November 27th, 2008

Lower back pain is one of the most common ailments people suffer from and approximately 8 out of 10 people will deal with back pain at some point in their life. That’s a lot of people… are you one of them? Out of all of the various forms of back pain, lower back pain is by far the most common and there’s a good explanation for this. Any idea why? It’s not car accidents, it’s not work-related injuries, and it’s not a lack of prescription medications either. Lack of movement and use is the number one cause of lower back pain! I bet your orthopedic specialist or chiropractor didn’t tell you that, did they? It’s the lack of movement in various muscles over years that leads to muscle imbalances and uneven wear and tear on your body, especially the spine. For example, how many times a day are you bending, leaning, or twisting? Here’s what the typical person’s day is like:

  • Wake up
  • Eat breakfast (hopefully)
  • Drive or ride to work
  • Sit at desk
  • Eat lunch
  • Sit at desk some more
  • Drive or ride home
  • Eat dinner
  • Sit on couch and watch television
  • Go to bed

Notice the trend here? That’s an awful lot of sitting and not moving. Well, this is what leads to serious muscle imbalances and so what do we do, we go to the gym and perform exercises that only make the imbalances worse! The key to eliminating lower back pain (nearly any ache, pain, or injury for that matter) is to identify the muscle imbalances that are pulling the spine, bones, and joints out of place and then stretch the tight muscles while strengthening the weak muscles.

How do I know this? Well, as certified personal fitness trainer and post-rehabilitation specialist, I have worked with hundreds of individuals with back pain and the conditions that ranged from sciatic pain, to bulging discs, to spinal fusion, and others. In working with these individuals I discovered some startling facts.

1. Many people who seek professional help are often mis-diagnosed and end up following a treatment plan that fails to eliminate the cause of their back pain.

2. Nearly all of the individuals I worked with were able to eliminate their back pain, or significantly improve their condition even though all of the traditional treatments failed them (physically therapy, chiropractic care, cortisone injections, anti-inflammatory medications, back surgery, etc).

Even more amazing is the fact that most of these individuals were able to eliminate their back pain in a matter or days or weeks simply by performing a handful of exercises and stretches! These weren’t your basic exercises or the standard back stretches and stomach exercises most “experts” recommend - these were specific exercises and stretches prescribed based on the individual. Many of these people had suffered for years and years with aches, pains, and stiffness and lived inactive lives because of their back pain.

3. Most back pain treatments offered for lower back pain only address the symptoms and don’t address the cause, which usually delivers just temporary relief for the individual. In addition to helping hundreds of others eliminate lower back pain, I also have had personal experiences with back pain and other various conditions such as sciatic pain, tendonitis, muscle strains and sprains, and more. In every single situation the traditional treatments did nothing but treat the symptoms (often times not successfully) and the only approach that gave lasting improvements and relief was targeted stretches and exercises.

Have you tried traditional treatments and found little relief? I am not saying these treatments are not effective at temporarily reducing the pain or inflammation, but I am saying nearly all fail to get rid of the underlying cause of the problem.

So how do you identify these muscle imbalances? Well, it isn’t easy but with a basic understanding of how your body works you can at least start looking at your situation and find out which muscles are over worked and too strong and/or tight and which ones are too weak and stretched out. It also helps if you can find a qualified health professional who specializes in identifying muscle imbalances. Unfortunately, there are still few professionals who use what I call the “common sense approach.” However, your best bet is to look for a personal fitness trainer that is trained and certified in post-rehabilitation, a manual physical therapist, or an osteopath. Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions… you need to take charge of your health care and be sure to quiz them to find out what type of an approach they take in treating back pain. This is just some of what you’ll learn when you order our “Lose The Back Pain” video. Stop fooling around with your lower back pain and address the true cause… because if you don’t, you’ll only end up with temporary relief of a life long problem.

I wish you the best and remember, the key to a healthy back is movement!

Are You Doing What You Love Each and Every Day?

November 24th, 2008

It is easy to get caught up in the day-to-day stress of everyday life: deadlines to meet, schedules to keep, unexpected expenses, conflicts to resolve, illness of loved ones, to name a few. Amidst all this, it is easy to for me to lose sight of why I do what I do - my purpose for being. I discovered my passion and my purpose over seven years ago. It was the catalyst for starting my business, The Center for Balanced Living in 1996. It is what led me to my purpose which is to empower you to live out your dreams with ease and abundance. Sometimes I get caught up in the external factors and forget to focus on what is really important. It is then that I must remind myself why I am here. It is a grounding place for me.

I teach my clients to look to their life for their passions and purpose. That is certainly where mine came from and I have found it to be true for many others. A lot of different threads weave through my story, but the most obvious and first I can remember centered around my life while I was growing up, and most specifically my dad. I’d like to share that story with you now.

I always had the impression my dad was unhappy. Actually, miserable is more the way I would describe him. He was mostly unhappy about his jobs . . . all of them that I can remember. I vividly remember my dad coming home from work, with his shoulders hunched over and his head hanging low. He would walk right past a mosaic picture of horses pulling a carriage through the snow.

Looking exhausted and sad, he would sit down at the kitchen table and say to my mom, “Charlie (that’s what he called her), I can’t take it anymore. I want to quit my job!” And I can remember my mom, who was looking after our security and well-being in the best way she knew how, saying, “Just hang in there Mac. Stick it out! We need the money!” And I can remember thinking, ‘Yeah! Hang in there! We need the money!’ We didn’t have much money in those days.

This story repeated itself year after year, as my dad persevered. The last two years of his career were literally a countdown to retirement at age 65. My dad retired at age 65. Two years later, he did some introspective thinking at the prompting of his daughter. At age 67, my dad declared himself an artist. I can still remember the moment he told me. My eyes got teary as I recalled the beautiful, mosaic picture on their living-room wall.

You see my dad made that mosaic picture, but I never saw him working on it. He created it before I was born. It was a beautiful mosaic, made of thousands of small hand-cut tiles. My dad had always been an artist but had suppressed that talent for most of his life while he strove to earn a living for his family. He worked in the garment industry in New York, and then the carpet industry in Florida. I often wonder what would have been possible if my dad had worked out a way to utilize his artistic abilities in his jobs. He had always been a good employee; he might have been a happy one too.

For a while my dad was happier than I had ever seen him. He carved wood etchings and gave them away as gifts. He traveled to places he had never seen. He also made more money in his investments than he did at his jobs. I am glad he had that short time period when he was happy. Unfortunately, it wasn’t too long before my dad’s health started to decline. Eventually, he lost patience and could no longer focus on his artwork. His health began to deteriorate and he passed away on September 9, 2003. He was 76 years old. My dad waited until he retired to do what he loved. It was a small window in the whole continuum of his life. That is why, more than ever, I strongly urge people to move forward now — don’t wait until you retire to do what you love. We all tend to live as if we have forever, but really, who knows our time allotment?

Are you doing what you love to do?

If not, what is one action step you can take today to move you forward?

Do you know your purpose in life? If so, take the time today to get re-grounded in it. If not, take the time to reflect on what you want to contribute in this lifetime. Consider hiring a coach to help you discover it.

Stacey Mayo, aka The Dream Queen, founded the Center for Balanced Living in 1995 as a vehicle to carry out her life’s work. Since that time she has assisted thousands of people to live our their dreams with amazing results. She is a Master Certified Coach and author of Is Your Ladder Leaning Against the Wrong Wall? Are you creating your life deliberately or by default?

November 24th, 2008

Copyright © 2005 Melissa Jean Quiter

Have you ever wondered how some people seem to have it all, while others struggle and work hard their whole lives and still have little to show for it? What is the difference between those that are creating the exact lives they desire to live and those who are not?

After hundreds of hours of research in programs, books, discussions and cutting-edge thought seminars, those questions can be answered by two very simple, yet profound, words.

Deliberate and Default

More specifically, deliberate creation — proactively participating in the creation and manifestation of your conscious and subconscious desires, and default creation - being only consciously aware of what you desire while the subconscious (where 88% of creating is done) pushes you along without awareness and focused direction.

As the creator of your life, you are at cause for everything you attract into your experience. And based on the universal Law of Attraction, which says — that which your energy is focused is drawn to you — there is never a moment when you are not creating.

So, if you are deliberately creating your life through active participation, awareness and focused energy, your life is a true reflection of what you desire. If you are creating by default, you are at effect of what is being created by your untapped subconscious mind. Without focus and process, your mind falls prey to what it has habitually done in the past. You know this is happening to you if you seem to experience the same situations over and over and over again - the same bad relationships; the same financial challenges; the same frustrating work situations; etc.

Deliberate creating is about taking back the power you came to this earth possessing. It is about actively participating in the total design of your life. It is about following a process, the Process of Deliberate Creation, on a daily basis to continually be moving toward your desires.

Being a deliberate creator of your life is the joy and satisfaction that may be the answer to what is missing from your life. It may be the only thing standing in the way of living and experiencing the life you came to this earth to live.

Learn the Process of Deliberate Creation today and take the first step in creating and manifesting all of your desires!

Are You an Ethical Person?

November 23rd, 2008

A few years ago I attended a vocational school for computer programming. During my last semester there, we were all required to do a speech about the field of computer programming. I chose to do one on the ethics of computer programming, i.e. the industry you chose to work for, the
type of programming you did, etc.

I discussed things like; if you design programs for a company that produces highly gory video games, and that company promotes those games to young people, do you bear any responsibility for violent behavior in those young people? Or do you bear any responsibility if your programming skills are used to slip pornography through the filters that parents put on computers to protect their children
from online porn? What about if you design programs that help online
criminals steal from others, do you bear any responsibility even if
you don’t use the program yourself?

In my summation I stated that I felt you did bear responsibility for these things. If you look at the S & L scandals some years ago, and some of the scandals in the big corporations these days, you might draw the conclusion that ethics in business is a thing of the past.

I think those currently making their living in the internet marketing
arena, and those of us trying to break into that arena need to consider
the area of ethics very seriously.

It amazes me how many wonderful opportunities are offered to me each
day. It’s great; I can make tons and tons of money each month even if I’m a really lazy person. All I need to do is buy some ebook for a low $47 or put up some mini site and I’ll have more money coming in than I’ll know what to do with. What makes this so sad is that you can become so cynical from all the unethical offers, that it
makes it hard to recognize the legitimate ones when they come.

Now, let me assure you, there are many ethical internet marketers out there. There are a few of them that I really respect and look forward to their newsletters and offers. But you have really got to watch yourself. One of the things I really respect about the
ethical marketers is they tell you right off, an online business is like any other business, it takes time and hard work to develop.

It’s kind of funny also when I get three or four emails within a day
or two telling me how their friend so and so has this great thing going on. It’s of course only open to a few people, and fortunately I’m one of the lucky ones. :) It wouldn’t even be so bad if they would at least personalize the offer with their own voice a bit,
but they don’t. It’s exactly the same, word for word, “hey buddy, this ones for you”.

You see, a lot of them are not what I would consider ethical business
people. Most of them could really care less about any benefit I might derive from the offer, what they care about is what they can get out of the deal.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with people trying to sell
you or I something. After all, isn’t that the idea of internet marketing? But, if I get an offer from someone that I think has a great product and I want to send it along to you, I’m going to do things a little different. First I would send you a note telling you about why I thought the product was a good one. I would then tell you that I was forwarding you a copy of the letter I received so you could get more details about the benefits of the product.

To me, if I really believe in a product, and I want to be honest, that
is the only way that I can endorse it. Being ethical is being honest,
it’s treating and dealing with people as you would have them treat or deal with you.

You may get someone to buy something from you with a slick sales letter once. But if the product isn’t really something that will benefit them; but you used a slick sales letter to gloss over that fact, it may be the last time you sell them anything.

The moral of the story? If you’re going to sell something, make sure it’s something that you believe in yourself. If it’s an offer from
someone else, don’t pretend like the offer comes from you directly, use your own voice lest you sound phoney. Be honest, be ethical, and in the long run it will pay dividens many times over, and in many
areas of your life.

Are You a Negative Thinker?
By Margaret Paul, Ph.D.

Barbara sought my help because of her chronic fatigue. She had been going to different kinds of doctors and trying different nutrition plans for years and nothing was helping her. One of the doctors suggested that she try psychotherapy.

In became evident early in our work together than Barbara was deeply addicted to thinking the worst. Constant negativity went through her mind about every aspect of her life. She would get out of her car and worry about getting robbed. In social situations, she would tell herself that people didn’t like her. She was always worried about money, even though she was a successful graphic designer. Her husband could never do anything right. There was something wrong with every doctor she saw.

Negative thinking causes much stress in the body. I told Barbara to imagine that she was telling these negative thoughts to a child. How would the child feel most of the time? Barbara could see that this child would, of course, feel anxious and stressed much of the time in response to all the negativity and catastrophic thinking.

The medical profession has long told us that stress is one of the leading causes of illness. Stress sets into motion the body’s fight or flight response, pouring cortisol into the body and eventually exhausting the adrenal glands. Adrenal exhaustion can be one of the results of so much negative thinking.

While Barbara could understand the possible effect her negative thinking was having on her health, it was extremely challenging for her to give up her negative thinking. Barbara deeply believed that her negative thinking kept her safe from disappointment. She believed that thinking the negative thought before the bad thing would happen prepared her to deal with it. She didn’t want to be caught off guard. She believed that she could not handle the pain of disappointment, so that if she knew about it ahead of time and actually expected it, she wouldn’t feel disappointed.

In addition, Barbara believed that if she was vigilant enough and thought through all the bad things that could happen, she could prevent them. She believed that by thinking ahead, she could somehow have control over the outcome of things.

Finally, Barbara also believed that she could control how people felt about her by acting right and saying the right thing. She was constantly vigilant about her behavior with others in her attempts to control how they felt about her and treated her.

However, in trying to control her feelings, others’ feelings and the outcome of things, Barbara may have been causing her illness. The underlying cause of her negative thinking was her devotion to this control.

The problem with all of this is that it is based on an illusion - the illusion of control. The fact is that Barbara could not foresee every event that could cause her some pain. She was devastated every time something happened that she had not thought of beforehand. How could something painful come out of the blue like that? How could she have not foreseen it?

The paradox of all of this is that, in trying to foresee future catastrophes, Barbara was not present in the moment. Real safety is in being present in the moment so we can respond appropriately to whatever is happening in the moment. When we are fully present in the moment, we are available to receiving information from our inner Guidance. All of us have a Source of Guidance that is always available to us, and that is here to help us and protect us. But we can access our Guidance only when we are fully present in the moment, not when we are trying to control the future.

Barbara is in the process of becoming more aware of her negative thinking. She is not yet healthy, but she has some better days now, days that are lighter and more fun.

Moving out of negative thinking is a process that takes time. If you are a negative thinker, you have been practicing this form of thinking your whole life. It is not going to stop in a day. But if you tune into the stress you feel and learn to connect your stress with your negative thinking, you can slowly change this pattern.

Vitality and joy can be the result of letting go of your negative thinking and learning to be present in the moment.
